Common questions

How do I draw a molecule? Describe the molecule or edit in plain English in the assistant panel — for example “draw aspirin” or “add a methyl group to the ring”. MolChart draws it, verifies the structure, and reports the result.

Do I need an account? No — MolChart is free to use without an account. Creating a free account lets you save documents and raises the daily AI message allowance.

How do I export my structure? Ask the assistant to export the document — SMILES, Molfile, CDXML, SDF, and 3D formats are supported.

Using MolChart from ChatGPT? The MolChart plugin exposes the same drawing engine inside ChatGPT. Documents you create there can be opened and edited at molchart.com with the same account.
